The Optima Pro Attache is a high-speed USB thumb drive from PNY that is certified for Windows Vista ReadyBoost technology. ReadyBoost technology allows Vista to use the thumb drive as a buffer between the RAM and the hard drive to speed up overall computer performance. The main requirements for ReadyBoost revolve around transfer speed, therefore even if you're not using the drive with Vista you will see better data transfer performance between your computer and the drive than with other non-high-speed drives.

Also grabbed this drive from the same place!

I got the 4G version, also do not run Vista, but it's certainly as fast as they advertise. For once ;)

I'm sold with PNY, at least for the time being!

Plus, it runs in Linux fantastically, though the company mention it!

I picked up this drive on sell at BestBuy. I needed a way to boot computers with a clean OS and fix things (While a CD-Rom was an option it has some limitations). I am suprised at how fast it is on a true 2.0 hub, and can see how you can get spoiled by them.

The 2G drive is very affordable on sale, and the price jump for the 4G is not a lot with that in mind the jump to 8G is a bit much IMO but I can see how it would be worth it for working on computers (if they boot from USB devices).

Don't run Vista so can't test the ReadyBoost, but would be interesting to see if that improved the speed.

Added (1/12): These went on sale again and I picked up a few more (3) 1 for me and 2 for family.  The company my mother works for is impressed enough to want them for their exec's (after seeing my mothers).  My mothers runs the TrueCrypt AES encryption flawlessly for sensitive data she has to take home.  They are on Vista and there seems to be an improvment in the speed for the drive even with the "on the fly encryption".
