The Philips BDP5010 is a midrange Blu-ray Disc player released in early 2009. The BDP5010 was announced by Philips at CES 2009 in Las Vegas, along with the BDP3010 and BDP7310. Physically, this Blu-ray player has a distinctive silver trim and an eject button located opposite the main control panel for added convenience. The BDP5010 features full 1080p video output at 24 frames per second to provide an original cinematic experience. Consumers can use HDMI or component connections to view content on their HDTV, plus digital or analog 7.1 connections for surround sound. The Philips BDP5010 is a profile 2.0 player, meaning Bonus View and BD-Live features are fully supported. Additionally, standard DVDs can be played and upconverted on this unit to 1080p resolution. Users can also view photo slideshows, play music and view DivX media files via its SD memory card slot. A remote control is also included.
