The PicoPix PPX-1030 is a portable pocket projector announced by Philips on September 3rd 2010 for an October release along with two other models, all of which feature SVGA 800 X 600 resolution and 400:1 contrast ratio as well as 20 to 30 ANSI lumens of brightness depending on the model. These are a first for Philips in the pico projector market and although technical information is limited, each has it's own unique feature. This one uses a USB port for power and no batteries making it the entry level model, with the PPX-1230 and PPX-1430 having battery power and in the 1430's case an MP4 player and SD card slot. At this time exact specs are still not available and the Philips website has yet to be updated. Typically pico projectors are connected to laptops or pc's to project videos for business presentations but they can also be used with any compatible device like gaming consoles, digital cameras and media players.
