The Philips 221S3SB/27 is a TFT LCD computer monitor released as a more affordable 24” monitor versus the superior 241P3LEB/27 and 241P3LYEB/27. Instead of relying on LED backlighting, which is more energy efficiency and also capable of producing better video output, this monitor relies on a traditional TFT LCD display. In addition, it does away with a USB hub, but maintains the standard VGA and DVI ports needed to connect to most modern computers. Like its superior peers, the 241P3EB/27 can still process high quality DVD and Blu-ray videos, and 3D games, and display them at a full HD resolution. Furthermore, this monitor offers pivot, tilt, and swivel adjustment options, so users can move the screen in various ways to get a more optimal viewing angle. One of the most important features inherited though are speakers, meaning users don’t have to invest in headphones or external speakers, though there are available ports for users who opt for that option.
