The MCD908 is the lower-end model of Philips' two micro home theater systems. The compact, 150W system features stylish, wood-and-aluminum design and solid build quality. It lacks a separate subwoofer, but features valve-based preamps aimed at audiophiles. The sound quality is about average, most reviews conclude. The system plays DivX, and can upscale DVDs to 720p or 1080i when used with an HDTV, and features HDMI connectivity in addition to standard composite and component outputs.
