The Philips DVP3140/37 is an entry-level DVD player designed for home theatre use. It has a slim case and puts emphasis on being versatile, since it can play numerous media forms. These include CD, (S)VCD, DVD, DVD+R/RW, and DVD-R/RW, and it can also read and play numerous media encoding formats, such as DivX, MP3, WMA, MPEG or JPEG. It uses a 12-bit digital-to-analog converter and 108MHz video processor which combine to clarify the picture. it also has digital audio sampling, at 192KHz, and 24-bit audio resolution. It also has progressive scanning and digital upscaling, parent controls and child lock. It is Dolby Digital compatible.
