The Philips SHL9500/37 is a pair of mid-range on-ear headphones similar to the Philips SHL9300/28. The two sets of headphones differ in a couple of important ways, namely: the SHL9500/37s lack the SHL9300/28s' FloatingCushion design (thus lacking a seamless construction) and the SHL9500/37s sport a closed design for improved sound isolation. Otherwise, the two pairs of headphones sport similar specs and features, including 40mm drivers, neodymium magnets and a 24k gold-plated plug.

The SHL9500/37s' closed design utilize specially crafted ear cushions which prevent audio leakage, offer passive sound isolation and provide added comfort to the wearer. Their 40mm drivers provide the SHL9500/37s with a frequency response of 10 - 28,000 Hz, while allowing for higher volumes with minimal distortion. Meanwhile, the SHL9500/37s' neodymium magnets offer enhanced bass response and improved overall sound quality.
