The Philips SPZ6500/27 is a mid to high cost webcam. Philips promotes the 2 megapixel design of this webcam as providing high quality video images not previously available to webcams. This webcam has been certified by Skype, which means that high-quality video and audio are ensured. The Skype certification also means that you get free calling and instant messaging to anywhere in the world. The wide angle lens of this webcam (70 degrees) ensures that you can get lots of people into an image without suffering a loss of quality. When the image sensor senses a lack of image sharpness, the Autofocus feature of the SPZ6500/27 readjusts the lens precisely, without the need for manual adjustment. This webcam is a step up from the lower cost SPZ2000/00 model in that it has features such as digital natural motion (which provides a higher sharpness of movement), echo/noise reduction, a second built-in microphone, 2.0 megapixel video/photo resolution (with 8.0 megapixel interpolated photo resolution, which allows you to print poster-size images in high resolution), Autofocus, and five element construction (as opposed to two). The Philips SPZ6500/27 has an LED power indicator.
