Despite the claims of Panasonic, THIS PLAYER WILL NOT PLAY MPEG2 files on SD cards from other devices. If you have a cam corder that happens to write video in "Panasonic Tested MPEG2" format, it may read the file. Panasonic refuses to provide information to owners that will allow them to convert files from AVI, WMP, or other standard video formats into an MPEG2 format that will be read on an SD card from the DMP-BD605. If you're looking for a cheap player, this is it. If you're looking for the capabilities described on the box - read the manual first, buy a panasonic cam corder, or spend hours on hold w/Panasonic tech support. (save yourself the time - buy something else)
