The Panasonic VIERA TC-P50U2 is one of two VIERA Plasma HDTVs released in 2010 as part of the VIERA U2 series. The 50” TC-P42U2 builds from the smaller 42” TC-P42U2, but maintains its predecessor’s 1080p full high-definition resolution. More importantly, the TC-P50U2 utilizes Panasonic’s 600Hz Sub-Field Drive and the new NEO PDP technology to deliver greatly enhanced luminosity with deeper and more lifelike hues. Add to that also the anti-reflective filter, which in turn allows the device to be used in an ultra-bright room. Most notable though is the 100,000 hour lifespan; keep in mind that one entire year features less than 9000 hours. Additional features include three HDMI connections, 2 USB ports, a PC input, and VIERA Link for using a single remote for accessing any connected VIERA Link products.
