Edit

The Onkyo TX-SR804 is a midrange, 7.1-channel A/V receiver that offers a high power output of 105W per channel. Its most touted ability is to pass video in all major HDTV formats, including 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, which means 1080p content can be transmitted directly from a BD player to a compatible HDTV set. However, the unit doesn’t support the ability to upscale standard-definition video signals up to 720p or 1080i, though it can deinterlace 480i to 480p for composite, s-video, and component inputs. It does however output multi-channel PCM soundtracks from BD and high-definition DVD through its HDMI connector. Additional features include an RS-232 interface for connecting to a home control system, 7.1-channel multi-channel ins and pre-outs, and XM Readyness.
