The TX-NR5009 is a high-end audio/video receiver from Onkyo that offers a step-up from the company's TX-NR3009 model. Featuring 9.2 channels with 145 watts of power handling each, this model is equipped with a wide variety of connectivity options and a number of built-in software components to help users achieve the best possible home theater experience. THX Ultra2 certification indicates top-notch components and overall build-quality, supplemented by leading processing codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Audyssey's Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume and DSX services help to provide optimal playback of movie and television soundtracks, incorporating a number of pre-configured settings for several common media types. Amongst the TX-NR5009's video input capabilities are 5 composite, 3 component and 4 S-Video jacks, with a total of 8 HDMI inputs for connecting laptops, gaming consoles and other modern devices. Standard definition content can be considerably improved via HD up-conversion, rendering material at 1080i or 1080p for smoother imagery on larger screens.
