The Onkyo HT-RC360 is a 7.1 surround sound A/V receiver for home theaters. It features network capability to offer both internet radio streaming, and playback of media stored on networked computers. It can also playback audio from a direct digital USB connection from an iPod. However, the HT-RC360 can only stream audio, not video. The receiver also has no THX certifications. Despite this, the receiver supports 3D video over HDMI, has a Marvell Qdeo Video Chip for video upscaling, supports lossless Dolby Digital DTS and Dolby Pro Logic IIz. Unlike many other receivers, the HT-RC360 allows the user to fine-tune all of the receivers settings using a user-friendly GUI over HDMI, rather than having to finely adjust knobs. The upgraded version of this receiver, the HT-RC370, adds additional Audessey digital signal processing features, an additional HDMI port, and is THX Select2 certified. While the Onkyo HT-RT360 is clearly a high-end receiver, the audiophile who is looking for that last bit of sound quality edge may be more interested in the upgraded counterpart.
