Edit

The FE series from Olympus focuses on slim design, ease of use, and competitive pricing.  The FE-340 offers a 5x optical zoom and a generous 2.7" display in a 0.7" thin body.  An effective 3200 ISO makes this one of the most sensitive models in the line; combined with Digital Image Stabilization (automatic ISO and shutter speed control) and DIS Edit (to remove blur from captured images), crisp photos are likely under almost any conditions.  19 shooting modes, Face Detection, Smile Shot (which fires off a series of photos when your subject smiles), and in-camera help make using the FE-340 easy even for beginners.  A special preview mode splits the LCD into a multi-frame window to display the effect of different settings so you can select the shot you like best.  And if you find you didn't make the best choice after all, in-camera editing extends to lightening shadows, eliminating red eye, and flipping frowns into smiles.
