The Olympus FE-3000 is an entry-level point-and-shoot digital camera that focuses on being compact and portable, as well as simple to use. It has a smaller form factor than some of Olympus' other entry-level cameras, in part because it uses a rechargeable battery pack as opposed to AA batteries. The FE-3000 has a 3x optical zoom, built-in flash, and 2.7"-diagonal LCD screen to view and take pictures with - there is no viewfinder, so the LCD screen must be used. There are 16 different preset shooting modes, and an automatic mode that selects from these. Also included are face recognition and enhancement, (up to 16 faces per photo) and a video capture mode with YouTube uploading software. Other features include compatibility with both XD and microSD cards (via adapter) and digital image stabilization.
