The OCZ Z-Drive m84 is a plug-and-play, bootable PCI-E SSD drive released in October 2009 as an affordable alternative to the enterprise level e84 and p84. Geared mainly for at-home users and small business owners, the m84 utilizes multi-level cell (MLC) NAND memory and an internal RAID 0 configuration, which together with the PCI-E architecture allows users to avoid a SATA bottleneck. It retails in capacities up to 1TB, and it offers a read speed between 500-750+ MB/s and write speed between 700-800+MB/s, depending on the unit size. Despite its affordability, the m84, like its superior counterparts, provides lowered power consumption, enhanced shock resistance, and superior durability.
