The sequal to Pikmin improves on the formula of the original game. You once again control Captain Olimar, but this time you have returned to the Pikmin planet to collect trinkets for your failing company to sell back home. You won't be returning to the planet alone however, Captain Luie has come to aid your search. You can swap between C. Olimar and Louie on the fly, commanding two armies of Pikmin at once. This mechanic is also a good excuse to include multiplayer and co-op challenge missions into the game. Pikmin 2 also removes the 30 day time constraint the first game had, increasing the length of the game and relieving a little bit of stress. Pikmin 2 also adds two new types of Pikmin. Small white Pikmin are fast and poisonous when eaten, feed these little guys to your enemies. They are also immume to toxic clouds. The massive purple Pikmin are the heavy lifters of the game. Not only can they lift heavier objects, but they are stronger than the other types of Pikmin (unfortunately, they are slower as well).
