Frequently Asked Questions
Noise level, ease of cleaning?
Noise level is about like any other blender. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe. I LOVE MINE!!!
Can ninja be used as a juicer?
It could be used as a juicer but based on my experience I think you'd burn the motor out. It's really only intended to be used in "spurts" so when I make my smoothies with it I can feel the motor getting hot if I have to blend it too many times. It could work depending on your ingredients but I wouldn't use it as a juicer. Hope this helps!
What model & brand is best for chopping ice and chopping veggies & fruit?
Hi Lois. As you can see, I purchased the Ninja Master Prep Pro. It came with a large blender and 2 smaller blenders. I use one of the 2 smaller blender sizes about 98% of the time as they are a very good size for blending and chopping. The Ninja is awesome for making "snow" for drinks and snowcones. Just fill the container with ice, then 'pulse' the top blender button. Pulse for a second or two then stop. Repeat over and over again until the ice gets to the consistency you desire. I also make 'icecream' in the smaller size blender, as it is the perfect size for 2-3 people. I cut up bananas, strawberries, peaches, blue berries, etc and place in the freezer. Then I take out whatever size portion I think I need, add a small amount of 1% milk then 'pulse' until the contents turn to icecream. This is a low fat and delicious treat. Only takes about 60 seconds to blend, and then another 60 seconds to clean the blender and cutting blades. Vegetables, gotta be mor cautious when using the 'pulse' because the ultra-sharp blades will pulverize the veggies and seeds VERY fast if you don't watch what you're doing. Salsa is quick and easy, just let the blades do the chopping and blending. I have been extremely satisfied with this machine. I just don't use the large pitcher/blender part that much. The ideal set-up for purchase would be : 1 large pitcher/blender, 1 smaller pitcher/blender, and 1 "bullet shape/sized blender for individual smoothie making. THAT would be the...
