The Coolpix S8200 is a compact digital camera from Nikon that offers a step-up from the company's Coolpix S6200 model. Available in four different color options, this model features 16.1 megapixels and a 14x optical zoom for capture vivid still images and HD videos with a number of built-in editing capabilities for true user convenience. A backlit CMOS image sensor is included to provide advanced processing for optimal results in day or night applications, working alongside a lens-shift VR image stabilizer to minimize mis-shots caused by shaky hands or moving subjects. Nikon's revamped autofocus technology works to detect a given subject and apply the appropriate sharpness and zoom controls without affecting additional objects that may fall within the field of view, putting emphasis on a specific area for increased boldness and clarity. Full 1080p video recording is also offered, with a set of in-line stereo speakers enabling automatic playback directly from the S8200. Additional content can be ported in or out of the unit via HDMI connectivity, making it easy to view recently-captured content on a large-screen television or computer interface. A host of "Special" and "Filter" effects are available for achieving striking visual properties before or after content is captured, with "Smile Timer" technology allowing users to capture natural, candid shots the first time around.
