Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does the P7100 have the interval shooting mode?

Yes, Nikon's P7100 has an interval shooting mode. To use it, click on the "Menu" button, then scroll to the "Shooting Menu". Immediately below the "Metering" settings is "Continuous", click on that, then scroll to "Intvl timer shooting", click OK, then set your desired interval from the drop down. The P7100 will shoot one shot every 30 seconds to a max. of 600, one every minute to a maximum or 300, one every 5 minutes to a max. of 60 and one every 10 minutes to a maximum of 30 shots. though I prefer shooting in Shutter Priority mode, in this case using ISO Auto and "P" mode, and white balance set to AWB. Set this way the camera has the widest pallet of adjustments to deliver acceptable results. and keep this in mind - at 24 FPS ( movie speed) 600 shot (frames) equals about 25 seconds of video. Try setting the camera up while dinner is being prepared, it shortens prep time tremendously.

  • Does the coolpix p7100 take good quality images in auto mode?
