The Nikon NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2 is a high-performance compact normal manual focus lens somewhat similar to the Nikon NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4. Its 50mm focal length and maximum aperture of 1.2 set the NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2 apart from the NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4 as well as its lack of Close Range Correction technology, making it better suited for general use.
The NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2's 50mm focal length provides it with a maximum angle of view of 46 degrees; this, along with its minimum focus distance of 1.7 ft make it well-suited for general photography use. Meanwhile, the NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2's maximum aperture of 1.2 allows it to perform exceedingly well in low-lighting conditions while allowing for extremely fast shutter speeds.
