Cons

two-in-one design means if the device breaks, you're out both a router and modem

1 agrees

bandwidth monitoring provides very little information

1 agrees

USB Performance is very poor, basically impossible to watch a movie and data transfer speed seems to be about 2MB per second.

1 agrees

Edit

The Netgear N600 Wireless Dual-Band DGND3700 is a mid-cost router. The NETGEAR Genie feature of the N600 Wireless Dual-Band DGND3700 allows you to monitor and control your network. As this device is DLNA certified, you can use it to stream media from other DLNA devices (such as USB drives) to an HDTV. The ReadySHARE USB feature of the N600 Wireless Dual-Band DGND3700 router gives easy shared access on your network to an external USB device. The Push and Connect capability of this router allows you to immediately get a secure network connection. This model differs from the lower cost N600 Wireless Dual-Band Premium Edition WNDR3800 model in that it has a built-in ADSL2+ modem (which offers download speeds of 24Mbit/s), though it has only one Ethernet port (compared to the N600 Wireless Dual-Band Premium Edition WNDR3800's four) and lacks the N600 Wireless Dual-Band Premium Edition WNDR3800's Clear Channel Selector (which automatically avoids busy WiFi channels) and ReadySHARE Remote/Printer features. The Netgear N600 Wireless Dual-Band DGND3700 router has live parental controls, which allow you to limit content.

I am still not able to find a reliable and cheap modem and router device, I read many NetGear n600 wireless dual band router reviews and many buyers complained that if you want to invest then go with Cisco especially NetGear products are not cheap so I am really confused

-DGND3700 is top range model, when routers with ADSL2+ modem are concerned, it is not 'mid-cost'
-It has 2 USB ports over WNDR3800
-WNDR3800 is not 'lower cost', is a different product than DGND3700, because it lacks ADSL2+ modem
-also WNDR3800 it's second best router without modem after WNDR4000 (which is to be released with DGND3700)
-DGND3700, as well as WNDR3800, is equipped with 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN and 4 LAN)

And please don't make me to register, to correct one article, that's not "Wiki" style :)

Anyway Netgear DGND3700 is going to be bad-ass :]
