The Netgear ReadyNAS 4200 is one of two budget-friendly network-attached storage devices (3100, 4200) released in 2010 and aimed at small to medium-sized businesses with no more than 500 employees. As an upgrade from the 4100, the 2U 4200 offers up to 24TB of storage capacity and 12 SATA channels. More importantly, the 4200 is touted as the first ReadyNAS ever to support the 10 Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure, resulting in improved throughput, response time, reliability, and efficiency. Like its predecessor, the 4200 features hot-swappable SATA drives, redundant system cooling, redundant network ports, Error-Correcting Code, and architectural support for NAS and iSCSI SAN applications.
