Edit

Butterfinger is a candy bar from Nestle, originally introduced in 1923. Butterfinger bars consist of crunchy peanut brittle filling with a chocolate outer coating. Originally made by the Curtiss Candy Company, the brand was sold in the early 1980s, and then resold in the early ‘90s to Nestle. The “Butterfinger” name is derived from the slang term used to describe a clumsy person. The name was tied into an early marketing stunt, where Butterfinger bars with their own parachutes were dropped from airplanes in cities across the United States. Several other Butterfinger-based products also exist, including Butterfinger BB’s, Butterfinger Crisp and numerous ice cream bars.
