The Navigon 2200T is a well-priced, mid-range GPS receiver designed to offer an easy-to-use navigation system at an affordable price. The second of four Navigon mid-range GPS receivers, the Navigon 2200T is an upgrade from the Navigon 2000S in that it features a traffic receiver that offers completely free and real-time traffic updates for the life-time of the device. The traffic receiver covers over 95 cities across both the U.S. and Canada, and provides alerts for both traffic troubles and possible alternative routes. In addition, the 2200T (like its downgraded peer) is ultra-thin and portable (under ¾” thick) and yet features a brilliant 3.5” touchscreen display, not to mention an ATLAS III AT642D-XAC (375MHz) processor with a SiRF GRF3i+ GPS chip. The Navigon 2200T retails for a slightly more expensive $229.99 (versus $199.99 for the 2000S) and comes with a 90 day limited warranty.

The 2200T offers advanced text-to-speech voice guidance for verbal directions including street names, Reality View Pro for displaying photo-realistic 3D views with actual road signs for any highway interchange that a driver may encounter, and Lane Assistant Pro for preparing the driver by providing clear visual lane guidance. Plus, the 2200T boasts an Instant Fix GPS system that triangulates global positions in a matter of seconds, a DirectHelp system that provides instant driving directions and contact information for nearby hospitals police pharmacies etc, Fast Destination Entry that allows users to enter and find information much quicker than a typical GPS unit, and optional Navigon FreshMaps so that users can update their unit's map 12 times a year for just $79.99 extra. The 2200T also sports pre-loaded maps of the lower 48 states, multi-destination trip planning, 64MB of internal memory, a USB 1.1 port, a micro SD card slot, and a non-removable Lithium-ion battery.
