The MSi P55-GD85 is a high-end Intel P55 ATX motherboard with an LGA 1156 designed primarily for Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 CPUs. As the flagship for the P55 series, the GD-85 builds from the GD-80 by adding along support for SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0, not to mention a PLX PCI Express switch chip introduced simply to multiply the PCI-E bandwidth for SATA 6Gb/s & USB 3.0 functionality. Like its predecessor, the P55-GD85 offers easy overlocking with OC Genie, though again it is restricted by conservative presets that restrict experienced overclockers from making dynamic adjustments. However, the unit does feature some other additions, including overvoltage protection switches, a display to show the current CPU base clock, and a third PCI-E x16 slot.
