The MSi P55-GD65 is a midgrade Intel P55 ATX motherboard with an LGA 1156 designed primarily for Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 CPUs. Featured is support for seven SATA-II drives, Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0, eSATA, six audio jacks, optical/coaxial SPDIF, and dual-channel DDR3 RAM. Critics have been very generous with their praise for the GD-65, as they hail its Japanese-built solid capacitors, its DrMos for more efficient/cooler-running power system, and its Super-Pipe heatpipe cooling system with an ultra-large 8mm heatpipe. They also like OC Genie for easy overclocking, though they wish it hosted more aggressive settings, in that the board is capable of several hundred more MHz. Overall it’s considered a midgrade board, though compared to Asus it could have offered more in base clock and memory performance.
