Edit

The MSi 880GM-E45 is a budget-friendly M-ATX motherboard with an AM3 socket geared for a Phenom II or Athlon II CPU. As the flagship unit in the 880GM series, the E45 is the only one to incorporate SATA 6G and USB 3.0, though it trades in its immediate predecessor’s (E43) support for SATA-II and eSATA. Featured also are six audio jacks, dual-channel DDR3 RAM, and Gigabit LAN. Critics appreciate the value-adding features incorporated, but dislike the lack of FireWire—especially since competitor models are available with the same functionality IN ADDITION TO FireWire. Keep in mind however that the motherboard supports 7.1-channel playback and easy, non-technical overclocking with OC Genie.
