Motorola's SB6141 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem is an upper-mid-range model of modem, marketed at Internet service providers who use existing TV cable infrastructure to provide Internet access to customers. It is also intended for users who would prefer an upgraded modem over more entry-level ones provided through certain ISPs. Since it uses the high-speed cable transfer standard DOCSIS 3.0, which allows an operator to offer its customers advanced multimedia services with data rates of over 300 Mbps for received data and over 100 Mbps when sending data.  The SB6141 enables channel bonding of up to eight downstream channels and four upstream channels, which helps to reach these mentioned transfer speeds.

This modem is compatible with Windows, Mac and UNIX systems, and offers some security features such as AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) transfer encryption. It also supports both IPv4 and IPv6, to increase IP assignment capacity over the network.
