Edit

The Motorola Droid Pro is a Blackberry-like, Google Android smartphone featuring a dual-mode CDMA/GSM chip for worldwide connectivity. Designed to compete with the BlackBerry—which still remains the preferred choice by corporate professionals—the Droid Pro hosts a bevy of advanced features for business users. It includes VPN support for a number of profiles, a built-in task manager, Exchange ActiveSync for receiving work email directly on the phone, and, most importantly, the added ability for IT managers to manage the phone to prevent confidential data from leaking out via stolen or lost models. Managers can remotely wipe the phone’s content—including anything stored on the attached memory card. Also featured is total device encryption, though it doesn’t innately support the transport encryption offered by BlackBerry. However, users could potentially use a third-party software to alleviate this.
