The Wireless N Adapter is the successor to the original Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter by Microsoft. The device provides numerous times more bandwidth than the previous 802.11g version, and has dual antennas to provide a more reliable signal and extended range via MIMO (multiple in multiple out). Microsoft claims Xbox 360 owners can expect approximately twice the wireless range compared to its predecessor. The 802.11n adapter can also run on 5GHz mode to avoid interference with other devices. A 2.4GHz mode is also available for compatibility with mix-mode networks and legacy devices. Users who stream HD content to their Xbox 360s and download large files will appreciate the extended bandwidth. The Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter connects via one free USB port.
