Cons

credits earned aren't very useful - for aesthetic bling and braging rights only

5 agree

shallow characters - Noble 6 has zero personality, other members of the Noble team are cliche

people that don't install the game to the hard drive slow down the loading in multiplayer for everyone

Playing co-op requires an official Xbox 360 Hard drive

custom maps are not officially supported by the online match making system

3 agree

people can't join multiplayer games that are in progress - meaning when people leave your game the teams become very unbalanced

3 agree

Graphics are not state of the art, but still great.

1 agrees

'New' multiplayer modes are ripped from other games and not very different from standard death match.

1 agrees

due to the nature of the playlist and voting system you can end up playing a bunch of game types that you don't actually like

It's boxing day in Canada, and even though I said I wasn't going to be spending much money Rogers Plus was having an INSANE deal where you buy 1 used game and get 2 used games for free. Yes, BUY 1 GET 2 FREE!

Being a mega gamer, how could I turn down such a deal?

My haul:
#prince_of_persia
#splinter_cell_conviction
#prototype
#castlevania_lords_of_shadow
#halo_reach
#splatterhouse
#transformers_war_for_cybertron
#dante_s_inferno
#dynasty_warriors_strikeforce
#bladestorm_the_hundred_years_war
#star_ocean_the_last_hope
#bioshock_2

All for about $110!

Go line up for #call_of_duty_black_ops tomorrow at 7am, or wait until I'm done with #halo_reach first?

I heard Reach is pretty short so you might want to have some more game lined up for when you finish.

Personally, though, I'd wait until Black Ops comes down in price.

That's could be a pretty darn long wait. Trditionally, COD games keep their price for a while. Though you could find deals on MW2 a month or so after launch.

Honestly, the single player of Reach is pretty forgetful. It's fun and all, but nothing to write home about. If by "done" you mean bored with the multiplayer... well that's a different ballgame by virtue of the fact the multiplayer is so comprehensive.

Personally I'm picking up Black Ops at first opportunity, the only question in my mind is if I should trade in Reach as well. I enjoy firefight and the arena modes, but I might notnplay it again after picking up Black Ops.

Ah see I don't mind picking up hot new games over a year after the fact. I only got my Xbox a couple months ago two (Elite with ODST and Forza 3 for $179.99) and I'm still cranking through Fable 2!

The one thing with COD is that it's great to get in at the beginning when everyone is a noon and the number of exploits and cheats is very low. Over time people start figuring out the Master Classes and it just sucks to play online.

Haha fair enough. I never thought about that but then again I'm not much of an online multiplayer kind of guy. Also, I suck at FPS' with anything but a mouse and keyboard.

Last night I finally got around to playing the firefight mode... all I can say is WOW. I was having a hell of a lot of fun. I don't know how long I'm going to have this same amount of fun with the mode, but for now it's absolutely awesome. I think one of the great things about the mode is that it actually feels like I'm playing with a team - much more so than standard team-based multiplayer games. There's also a nice amount of variation with Sniper firefight and Rocket firefight. It's not a big deal when somebody leaves the game early. Just all around a great time.

After playing this game for a few days now it can be easily summarized as: If you like and want more Halo then Reach is right up your alley. If you've never liked Halo, or are tired of it, then Reach probably won't change your mind. I find myself a decent Halo fan, and the game is mucho fun. I don't think I'll be putting as much time into it as other games like Starcraft 2, or Street Fighter 4, but it's a good game to have around and bust out every once in a while. I still haven't really gotten into the Firefight modes though, so maybe that'll change my mind and I'll find more fun there. For now, it's definitely worth the money, but it's not a rousing success that I can recommend to everyone.
