The TouchMP from Memorex was announced at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show and may be the first touch-screen based media player to have a suggested retail price under $100. With a 2.8 inch, 320x240 resolution the screen compares favorably to more expensive competing offerings, though the other quality issues remain to be seen. Memorex is positioning the TouchMP as an affordable solution to people who want a larger media screen for their audio, video and photo needs and offers a variety of format support as a result. The touch interface is their own creation and relies on the touchscreen for navigation, not unlike the massively popular iPod Touch.
