I agree with everyone here--this diswasher is a piece of junk. I have bought it 3 1/2 years ago. Had to have the motor replace at 3months old--what? Are you kidding me? That should have alerted me then. When it was about 1 1/2 years old the front display panel only lit up half way so you could never fully read the display. Then this past January the door latch broke and we replaced that. Now in May 2013--the front display panel flashes (but can't read it due to that's been broke since 1 1/2 years old) and it won't turn on--if we leave it sit for a couple hrs it then turns on--but after a couple weeks of that--it's now completely dead--won't turn on--someone told me that it needs a new touch pad--I check out prices--are you kidding me? Why would I put that kind of money into this hunk of junk. Just bought a Maytag Dryer in December and now wishing I had chose another brand!! Maytag won't stand behind this piece of **** and I see from many posts that everyone has the same problems with this model--they should be ashamed of themselves--I really have to buy a new dishwasher 3 1/2 years later? I will tell everyone I know to NEVER buy Maytag again!!!

I owned this dishwasher for the past 18 month, and it has never worked well.

We replaced our 15-year-old no name dishwasher with this model, because the racks (on the old one) were rusty, and it didn't clean properly anymore.

I did loads of research and finally decided on this Maytag model, at a price of $ 700.- (and Tax). It seemed like a great dishwasher, with extra spray arm, time delay, great program selection...

But you don't always get what you pay for.
It never had proper cleaning power, when it was fully - and correctly - loaded. We tried every dishwasher detergent available, but it made no difference.
Now we only run it 3/4 full, and add an extra squirt of bleach, and the results are somewhat better.

About 3 month ago, it started making a grinding noise, when it was running. My husband (handy with tools and appliances) disassembled the bottom spray arm, and found pieces of plastic had broken off from the dishwasher and were now causing the noise. We removed the plastic pieces, it quieted the diswasher, but did not improve performance.

There was a recall on the dispenser, which has been taken care of. And I don't have an issue with recalls, they do happen unfortunately.
I have an issue with putting your name to a piece of junk and deceiving customers.

I will never buy another Maytag again.

We feel exactly the same. We will never buy Maytag again and we have been Maytag customers for 30 years or more...this dishwasher is a piece of junk

Maytag Model MDB6701AWW2 Broke down after 20 washes. Repaired and broke down again after 6 more washes. Still not repaired 2 months later. Just learned it's also being recalled for fire hazard. Terrible product - no relief from company 'til 3rd breakdown due to same problem. Anticipate that will come quickly after repair, whenever that occurs. Only relief options: new machine but have to pay installation fees, or portion of sale price. Neither worth it, considering only less than 30 wash loads.

Model MDB6701AWB3, lasted a bit over a year before it wouldn't turn on. Paid $550 plus tax & installation for this disgrace. It took 2 hours for a cycle, didn't get everything clean, was loud with ocassional very loud grinding. Called service man, said to run water hot before turning on, did that, helped a bit. Key pad started flashing, machine could not be turned on. Called repair, cost of replacing touch pad & computer almost the same as cost of machine. This is criminal, I feel like I have been robbed. Should be a law against providing such flimsy product for such a high price.

We just bought a house that had this model. 3 years old, we only used it a handful of times. Previous owner already had the handle/switch replaced. Last night it just wouldn't start. No lights, no pumps, nothing. Checked the breaker, but that wasn't it. Very disappointed and will not be buying anything by Maytag.
