The Maytag Centennial MEDC400VW is an electric dryer from the Maytag Centennial series based on Maytag Commercial Technology (MCT). The Maytag Centennial line of dryers are in fact Maytag’s most affordable models. Despite its lack of features in comparison to Maytag Performance and Maytag Bravos dryers, the MEDC400VW still features a fairly large 7.0 cubic ft. SuperSize Capacity DuraCushion Dryer Drum, not to mention a GentleBreeze drying system and a Smooth Balance Suspension System that relies on four premium drum rollers with self-lubricating bearings to provide a quiet cycle with minimal vibration. In addition, the MEDC400VW comes equipped with a 90-minute wrinkle prevent option, a QuietSeries 100 Sound Package, a 1/3 HP high-torque motor, and a reversible side-swing door. The Maytag Centennial MEDC400VW is priced at only $429.00, making it a surefire bargain compared to its competitors. If purchased from the manufacturer, the MEDC400VW comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Extended service plans are available for an additional fee.

I agree with the person about Maytag MEDC400WV, except mine doesn't work at all. Bought at the end of October, by mid December it conked out. They send out repairmen to repllace parts. Want you to repeatedly take off work while they "experiment" by changing parts. Need to replace dryer. I'll never buy another Maytag product and they were great before Whirlpool took over.

Leave it to Whirlpool to ruin a perfectly good and reliable product. My last Maytag set lasted for 19 years with only a dryer filament replacement. I bought the new MEDC400VW in July, 2009. Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool. From the start the drum sounded lake a large bass drum during the entire cycle. I called for warranty service in the middle of November when I could no longer stand the thumping noise. The service rep said he needed to order a new drum and rollers. It is now 12/28/2009. I still have the bass drum thumping and the old drum and rollers. I recommend that you buy something other than Whirlpool or Maytag.
