The BD7003 is a Marantz Blu-ray player. Although an entry-level model in Marantz's line of Blu-ray players, it is far from low-end, with upscale design and build quality, and a mid-range feature set. Although it shares a price point with the upcoming, BD-Live-enabled BD5004, the BD7003 lacks such support, and lacks an ethernet port for firmware updates. It does, however, support Bonus View, as well as the latest HDMI iteration, HDMI 1.3a. In addition to Blu-ray discs, it plays DVDs and CDs, and features an SD card reader enabling playback of MP3 and WMA music files, as well as JPEG photos. The front panel features aluminum and reinforced resin in a black finish, and minimalist controls, aiming for a high-end look. A three-year warranty is standard. In 2009, this model will be replaced by the BD7004, which adds support for Profile 2.0, among other features.
