The VP-11S2 is an ultra-high-end, 1080p DLP projector from Marantz. Retailing for $15,000, it utilizes four of the latest DC4 chips from Texas Instruments, custom Konica-Minolta optics, and GENNUM VXP GF9351 video processing, aiming to produce unsurpassed picture quality. It is a step up from the VP-15S1, which utilizes a single .95" chip, but also supports HDMI 1.3a, with Deep Color capability. The VP-11S2's high-end specs include 1000:1 ANSI contrast, 850 ANSI Lumen brightness, and brightness uniformity of over 90%. The color wheel spins at a rate up to 6x, eliminating color breakup, while the device's motor is designed to ensure quiet operation in spite of the high frame rate. The VP-11S2 is also highly versatile, with two lens options, solutions for 2.35:1 viewing, and a mechanical lens shift. It is available in a Long Throw version at added cost.
