The DV9600 is a progressive scan DVD player from Marantz, billed as a "universal" player for it wide range of format support. It is capable of playing DVD, DVD-A, SA-CD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD 2.0, SVCD, and MP3 discs, and has built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders and DSD processing for all SA-CDs. The unit has iLink and HDMI 1.1 connectivity. Among its outputs are analog (RCA) and 5.1 channel, digital optical and digital coaxial audio, and component, composite and S-video, in addition to HDMI. The player has a 12-bit digital-to-analog converter in addition to the main 216 MHz/14-bit video processor, and Noise-Shaped-Video circuits for further enhancement. The DVD player can upconvert to 720p, 1080i and 1080p via HDMI.
