Edit

The Marantz NR1601 is a 7.1 surround sound AV receiver built to support a wide range of standards. This is a "Slimline" receiver, built lower to take up less cabinet space, and is an upgrade from the Marants NR1501 as it includes HDMI support. Extensive standard support allows for the conversion of Composite or Component inputs to an HDMI output, allowing for a mix of technologies. A number of high definition standards are supported, including Dolby TrueHD, Prologic IIz, and dts-HD Master Audio, and many more. There is also support for the HDMI v1.4a 3D standard, which supports surround sound and 3D video in high definition. 50 watts of power are sent discretely to each of the 7 main outputs, with additional wattage dedicated to the subwoofer pre-out. The speaker terminals are all screw type, which ensures a solid connection and reduces the possibility of interference. A front USB port allows the connection of an iPod, iPhone, or USB memory stick. The M-DAX2 system expands the compressed audio and fills in the missing audio range for a fuller sound.
