Pros

Wide variety of inputs is conducive to large, complex configurations - dedicated digital/analog buffers help to preserve natural sound characteristics

1 agrees

Built quality is very solid - connectors and output terminals are strong and rigid, switches are comfortable and well-seated

1 agrees

Power handling is both economical and eco-friendly - outperforms 100+ watts/channel units with only 70 watts per channel

1 agrees

Operations temperature is relatively cool - remains cooler than competitors from Onkyo and Denon at high output rates

1 agrees

Audio reproduction is remarkably clear - individual channels are crisp and isolated while powerful bass response removes the need for an external subwoofer

1 agrees

Performs very well overall as a high-end amplifier - ideal for audiophiles and sound engineers who listen for every nuance

The Marantz PM8003 is a high-powered, integrated stereo amplifier designed for either a starter system or a “second system” in homes, dens, or dorms. As a step up from the PM5003, the PM8003 utilizes a more-powerful toroid transformer with custom capacitors—leading to an enhanced power output of 100W. Included also are fully-discrete, high-speed current feedback circuits in the preamp and power amp sections, integrated into the unit specifically for greater audio-resolution. Last, but perhaps most important, to note is the Marantz PM8003’s front switch, which optimizes main-in terminals for use with a separate surround processor by disabling the unit’s front panel controls.
