traffic functionality requires an external hook-up that isn't easy to detach/reattach - discourages stowing the Magellan unit while not in use

The Magellan RoadMate 2055 is a middle-end GPS. It is designed to be able to find locations and provide directions to them. It features highway lane assist, free lifetime traffic, and a OneTouch favorites menu. The highway lane assist technology displays realistic looking highway signs on the GPS screen. This lets the user know when a lane is coming up, and helps them to take the right direction. The free lifetime traffic feature provides real-time information about traffic to the GPS. This lets a user know about things like traffic jams or road construction, so they can adjust their route accordingly. The OneTouch favorites menu lets a user use personalized bookmarks that let them instantly access their preferred locations and searches. When compared to another Magellan GPS, the RoadMate 5045, the RoadMate 2055 has some disadvantages, such as a smaller screen, and the lack of a free map update.
