Edit

The Life Fitness X1 is one of four rear-drive elliptical cross-trainers designed for users seeking a total-body workout from the convenience of their home. As the base unit, the X1 provides a 20" stride, a maximum weight capacity of 350 lbs, and two console options. The basic module doesn’t feature any wireless heart rate monitoring (only for the X1), but the advanced console does. Featured are ErgoGrip stationary bars for maintaining stability during lower-body-only workouts, WhipserStride technology that ensures the back-and-forth movement doesn’t create a bunch of noise, and dual accessory racks in addition to a built-in reading rack. Critics appreciate the X1’s stability and fluid motion, but aren’t too keen on the oversized pedals, as it can be difficult to keep one’s feet flat and in place.

Additional Information

All Life Fitness ellipticals can be obtained with either a Basic Workout Console or an Advanced Workout console. The basic one includes 5 workout programs and a basic heart-rate readout (not available on the X1). The Advanced console, on the other hand, incorporates 10 workout programs, a wireless heart rate chest strap, Heart Rate control, 2 user profiles, 2 custom workouts, and a race mode.
