The LG ST600 Smart TV Upgrader is a set-box designed to provide older televisions that have an HDMI port with Smart TV functionalities like Internet access and content streaming. These include Hulu Plus, Amazon Video, LG Apps, games, news, music, and more, all of which can be accessed through a smartphone remote-control application. In particular, the TV Upgrader connects to the Internet via either Ethernet or Wi-Fi (b/g/n), after which it relies on DLNA connectivity for transferring files and accessing premium Internet content through a web browser. It was unveiled at CES 2011 and then later released in the second quarter of 2011.
