The IPS236V is a 23" consumer desktop monitor from LG, one of several models set for release in fall 2010 to utilize IPS (in-plane switching) technology, an upscale iteration of LCD. The IPS236V is very similar to the 21.5" model, featuring an HDMI port and 1080p resolution. LG's three consumer IPS models share other specs, like a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 6ms response time. The professional IPS231P adds an adjustable stand and 1W speakers, but drops the HDMI port
