The Lexmark C540N is a budget color laser printer. It is intended for environmentally friendly printing through use of built-in duplex printing that is designed to save paper and energy. It also has a low energy "Eco-Mode" power option, and is Energy Star compliant. The C540N is supposed to offer vibrant and high resolution printing with 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, and can print 20 pages per minute (black and color). It has a recommended usage of 1,500 pages per month with a maximum of 35,000. It also has a built-in network function, as well as PCL 6 and PostScript 3 emulations to ensure that the printer is compatible with application software. It has a color cartridge saving mode as well as compatibility with Lexmark high yield cartridges, which reduce printing costs and last longer. This printer is nearly identical to the C543DN, but it is not capable of duplex printing.
