Introduced in 2009 the ThinkPad USB Keyboard is a professional compact desktop keyboard from Lenovo. The main design aims of the keyboard were found by crowd-sourcing - specifically an 800 respondent survey. These turned out to be quite simple: mimic the famous ThinkPad laptop keyboard, while keeping cost low. The ThinkPad keyboard has been heralded since the series was introduced, featuring a perfected layout, quiet laptop-style scissor-switch keys, and very little flex. On this most recent desktop model the trackpad was cut, due both to cost and lack of interest - but the rest, which amounts to what could otherwise be considered a full T400s keyboard, including all of the media keys and TrackPoint mouse emulation nub / buttons were included.
