Kona's Operator DH 2011 is the first incarnation of this model, and is specifically for downhill riding. Its geometry reflects this, including 64-degree head tube angle and oversized pivots. The rear shock is a coil, Fox's VAN RC, and the front is a high-travel RockShox Boxxer Race (200mm). SRAM X-7 rear derailleur and shifters are coupled with SRAM chain and freewheel, and E*13 SRS front derailleur make up the drivetrain. The rims are Sandvik and both use Formula disc hubs, for Avid G3 rotors and Code R brakes and levers. The frame is made of aluminum. This model is one of only two downhill models, the second being the Supreme Operator, which uses the same geometry, but has a full Shimano Saint component group. It has a significantly higher price point.
