Edit

The Kenwood KDC-MP242 is a Car audio player released by Kenwood in 2009 retailing at $120.  Slightly pricier than the Kenwood KDC-MP142, it's still one the cheap-low end of the Kenwood car player portfolio. It plays all the typical audio formats (CD, WMA, MP3, CD-R,CD-RW), portable satellites, and portable music players through its front AUX input.  It's compatible with Kenwood's iPod's adapter that allows for complete control of the iPod through the display panel of the audio player, all while keeping the iPod charged on the road. Another addition is the HD Radio tuner for enhanced sound quality of digital audio. Users can also add the hands-free BlueTooth feature.  In short, the extra $20 paid for this piece over the Kenwood KDC-MP142 is for compatability with more devices, which would only happen if more money is spent on adapters and such.
