The JVC DLA-RS50U is one of three 3D-enabled, D-ILA home theater projectors released in late 2010 as part of the Reference Series. It builds from the base unit (DLA-RS40U) by incorporating an improved 70,000:1 contrast ratio, not to mention a 16-step lamp aperture system that matches the 16-step lens aperture to optimize the f-number (relative aperture) of the optics system in all steps. Like its counterpart, the device is capable of a full 1080p resolution via dual HDMI v1.4 interfaces. More importantly, it’s 3D ready via a separately purchased external 3D Signal Emitter and a pair of 3D glasses. Also included is 120Hz Clear Motion Drive Technology for reduced motion blur, and a 7-axis color management system for precise color tuning.
