The JVC DLA-HD990 is a high definition projector for home theater use. This is similar to the JVC DLA-HD950, but it uses a higher 70,000:1 contrast ratio for clearer details in darker scenes. It also carries a 3-year warranty, ensuring durability. Otherwise they are the same, with a 900 lumens brightness and a full 1080p high definition picture. HDMI inputs allow signals in a variety of HD formats to be read, as well as NTSC and PAL type signals. The 2x zoom lens adjusts itself to create the clearest possible picture, and can rotate to ensure that it is projecting straight. A 120 Hz refresh rate ensures that fast-moving images are rendered smoothly and without jitter.
